Re: Telford 2013 B50.org

Just got back! Great show again. Surprised to see 1973 CCM project for sale on autojumble - very very tempting. Original frame, needs re-coating,good CCM magnesium wheels, decent tank, seat, forks need a bit of attention but there, some fibreglass, crankcase covers and some engine parts but by no me...

This is a great show and well worth a visit. Brian Wade the "wild man" is guest of honour this year - some lovely bikes (but no bargains).

Re: Air Filters Again - Cleaning?

Thanks for the ideas from far and wide. Liking the white spirit / hose pipe approach - will give it a try! Got to keep that engine clean for trouble free racing... will try not reading the fire stories again, methinks. Keeping a spare one prepared is also good advice which is worth doing too.

Air Filters Again - Cleaning?

Starting to wish I had not bothered looking into old posts on this one after reading some of the old air filter fire horror stories, like Holy Hell Fire and the others on the forum. Too late now...and didn't find an answer to my question anyway. I use a foam air filter (read fire hazard/bike burner/...

Re: Christmas Quiz

Sorry not right there Rickard. Two of the three are on 1974 bikes and one on a 1975 - but I think I will need to put a few more photo clues on later to help you (when my daughter shows me how to re-size her photos). Back in the day which well known BSA/CCM rider said The Butts was one of his favouri...

Re: Entering classic scrambles?

Alternatively.... you could do a classic/twinshock enduro/hare and hounds. There are a number of clubs now doing these inc. the two clubs we run, and to be honest most of these are similar to the old style scrambles but a bit longer (2 x 1hour races). At the moment you can enter without a license in...

Re: b50 front forks for scrambling

Have B50 forks on my '73 CCM and they do the job well enough as far as I'm concerned.....usually. However, despite strip down and refit the front end keeps working a little loose at the headstock. The fork legs don't seem to line up exactly when looking across them. Have new bearings from PES, pumpe...

Re: Entry forms now out

Mr. Chaos certainly has a very good point here, even if he is from Yorkshire. Derbyshire, though close by, does have a little more finesse, but I am certainly pontificating at £85 (£85....£85....?), even for a good venue. And what with the price of diesel? Not priced to encourage is it ? ccmicon (no...

Sutton Falcons ran trials and scrambles at Teversal - nightmare when wet. Think they do modern enduros there now. Think Retford club also ran an event in Wales which is on Notts/S Yorks border? Also do you remember Williams Quarry above Matlock/Darley Dale, Stonedge near Chesterfield or The Butts at...
