Re: Can you cut down a long seat to make a short seat?

Go to BSA unit singles home page, search 1972 BSA B 50 T Dirt Racer Conversion and you'll find a factory issue bulletin with a drawing to cut down a standard seat. Busy doing this to a T25ss at the moment. Bulletin also a fascinating read.

Sounds like its "pinking" to me, my T25ss made a similar noise, backed off the timing and its been fine ever since. Timing these things with a strobe is allways a giggle,2 guys to hold the thing steady, one to operate the throttle and one to operate the strobe !!!!!!!!!

Mine's doing exactly the same thing ! Carb clean and set fine, ignition timing spot on, brand new points. Motor idles then starts to "eight stroke" and then dies. Next step am going to change coil , condenser and then try a hotter spark plug . Never had these problems back in the day , maybe issues ...

Will a B44 motor go into an oil in frame B25 chassis with the cylinder head in place or not ? Realise the question has probably been asked before, but can't remember the answer !!!
