Re: LED Headlight/Zener Diode Question

I ordered dual polarity LED's. I just installed a new Lucas headlight lens/reflector even with the old 446 bulb the headlight is much brighter which is great since the objective is to make me more visible to others in addition to reducing wattage.

LED Headlight/Zener Diode Question

In a 2018 post re Advantages of a power box/Podtronics over Zener the point is made that running with the headlight on reduces the heat of the zener diode heat sink. I always use the headlight when I ride my B44 (for daylight visibility - I rarely ride it at night). I have just ordered a full set of...

Re: B44 clutch operating rack

The problem with the clutch rack was that the pinion gear and rack were so very badly pitted, corroded and rusted that it was jammed. I cleaned, filed, polished and greased them, but was unable to get the ball bearing out (no way will it just fall out). I reassembled with the correct lever angle and...

Re: B44 clutch operating rack

Thanks for that. Coincidentally I just read that on page 109 of St. Rupert's epistle to the ham-fisted. It also explains why the ball bearing is jammed and flattened.

B44 clutch operating rack

Just installed a new clutch in my 1970 B44 however the actuating rack (gear cog) is jammed in the outer timing cover and the lever is not quite in the right position (1 tooth out). The top or the rack has a chip out of it and I wonder if the piece is jammed in the pinion gear. First I thought there ...

Re: Integrate headlight with ignition switch?

Thanks for the replies and information. Ian I am having some difficulty trying to trace the wires in your second photo. Are the relays inside the headlight shell? Would it be too much to ask if you could draw up a simple diagram?
Thanks

Integrate headlight with ignition switch?

I have a one-kick 1970 B44 Victor Special (Yes 1 kick!)with Pazon electronic ignition and Taiwanese knock off Keihin carb . I am constantly leaving the headlight on after daytime running. Can the headlight circuit be integrated with the ignition switch so that the headlight/taillight circuit is powe...

Re: Another wet sump question

Good suggestion Rickard - the filter is mounted to the frame just below the oil tank, I was wondering if the problem was the contents of the filter draining to the sump, but I didn't even think about taking the filter out of the system and checking. A typical forest and trees thing.

Another wet sump question

I have just read a recent post on wet-sumping and have a question. I have a 1970 B44 with a Triumph T150 cylindrical oil filter on the oil return line between the engine and oil tank. Since a recent top and bottom end rebuild the bike has been wet sumping and blowing oil through the most unusual ori...
