No where near as many bikes on show as past years, more and more modern stuff creeping in, Some sellers had what looked liked remnants of a modern bike breakers yard and the outside...

That disgusted with Englands performance so far against Italy that I'm going to have another go at loading some photo's of the new 78 CCM that was at the Classic off road show! Might have a garage sale to get some money together to buy one ;-)

I see you cut the original side stand bracket off early in the project, maybe with a bit off fettling of the exhaust run it could of been incorporated, however I like the run off your exhausts :smile:

I don't think Minety thought you'd lay the bike over far enough to ground the prop stand <201 If the spring brakes allowing the stand to drop it could launch you ;-)

Went to the show at the weekend and it was a CCM fest ccmicon . Drooled over Joe Maxwell's 72/73 frames and bikes :thumb and there was someone there who's making 78 rolling chassis's, The quality of the frames are just superb and he's got tanks and seats made, side panels moulded and is casting hubs...

As Clive as already said - to get chain clearance to a knobbly/ wider tyre its almost impossible to centre wheel to frame, some classic trials riders have tried to improve things by moving engine to the left?

I have found if you start increasing fork length(spindle to top of headstock) and then increase shocks to suit you can open up a can of worms. Longer forks mean longer wheelbase which alters all-round handling. Longer shocks can give chain problems. As far as I'm concerned the standard BSA geometry/...

Yes, but this is no 7! There were 6 works riders? I believe there were only 7 bikes built/ prepared for that season. I spoke to Andy about this very bike 20 years ago and he says it wasn't his?

Been using standard crank wheels and axles with carrillo rods in my B50s and victors(present one out to 500) for 15 odd years and have had no problems - now where's that lucky rabbits foot!

So one minute it spins, next minute you can kick it over <201 As beat rightly says - could be the clutch :?: Check the clutch itself, and cable adjustment. Then once you've ruled that out move on to the quadrant and ratchet assembly.

Thanks for reply Jeff, forgot to say I had tried several paint strippers without success. The problem being that over the counter stuff is useless. I've now trawled the net and found a product that claims to do the job. Will give it a go and see if it 'does what it says on the tin'!
