Unlikely, I know But Tacho Rev Counter Drive?

I fancy fitting a tacho to my BSA, but well, I didn't realise that Small Heath manufactured these Tacho Drives from Purest 24ct gold...I know that they are getting rare but if anybody has one for less than a Time-Share in Florida I would appreciate it!

Bit short of cash tried to sell the B50

Being a touch short of the old readies..I decided that the best course of action was to sell the B50 (It didn't sell..I'm glad) I listed it on a well known Online Auction website and got a flurry of offers and questions etc etc. I bought the bike for £4500 and have bought a new Lozenge Silencer, Tri...

EBAY can be a strange old place?

EBAY...I remember when it started...I really do,it was almost exciting..in that you never knew quite what you were going to get! I recall buying a pair of Motorcycle gloves..Dainese they were...I paid around half price from them...when they arrived they were "almost" perfect in that they were the co...

Re: Where Is my COMPRESSION!

Thanks for the advice..I have raised the rocker cover (in the frame) and got access to the pushrod and this clearly wasn't seated at the base? I jiggled it around(technical term) and repositioned it using long nose pliers so that it goes up and down again and all is now well. No idea how it moved th...

Seem to have a Stuck Valve?

Had a look at the B50 removed the access plate on the rocker cover and whilst the exhaust valve moves up and down the Inlet valve appears to be stuck solid. I'm assuming this means engine out, but any suggestions before I foray forth. Worked perfectly parked it removed the Boyer and then...locked va...

Re: Where Is my COMPRESSION!

Right then on close inspection and on removing the right side cover over the pushrods whilst the exhaust valve moved up and down as it ought the inlet pushrod refuses to move,it steadfastly remains in the cup but the valve does not budge a jot.
Any ideas other than strip the blighter down?

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins.
For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing.

Could be written for a B50 rebuild

Just Been on 1st decent run on B50SS

As I mentioned my bike is somewhat reluctant to chime above 4000rpm however, my next door neighbour also has a 500cc single and we decided on a whim.. a fancy, if you will.. like a spring zephyr of a thought, and with no preparation, to go on a Friday run, I grabbed my favourite Adjustable ..just in...

B50SS doent rev through 4500rpm?

The BSA certainly starts well and runs and ticks over went out for a run last night and it seems reluctant to rev much past 4500,in fact it likes 4000 to be honest. It doesn't leak much ad the clutch is fine, the only item that is "obviously" not right is the silencer which has no innards and a spli...

B50 exhaust and silencer

My bike 1972 B50SS came with standard lozenge silencer but all the insides were loose and rattling ...then they all fellout...apart from one...there IS always one isn't there? Then I noticed that my lozenge silencer box has sort of "bulged" and the is a hole about 6cm long 1cm wide (now) along the b...

Flat front Tacho Drive?

Now I have one of these tacho drives it looks brand new to be honest, it arrived in my box of valuable spares when the bike was bought. I've offered it up and was rather hoping (forlornly) that it would just slot right is, but the front downtube manages to get in the way. Is there a B50.org cunning ...

Strange Feeling but in a Good way!

Isn't it Strange? I'm certain that I'm preaching to the converted here but I had owned this benighted B50 for 3 months or so and just could start it, very occasionally ..it seemed that it rather depended on the direction of the wind or how many magpies were in my garden as to whether it would fire o...
