1967 7" Headlight Wanted

The B44 restoration continues at a tectonic pace. I am now looking for a 7" headlight unit, the one with the ammeter, switch and the one off kilter hi-beam idiot light. Where are all the 40-6815s hiding?

Burton's are listing 40-6815 rear mudguard (1968) as out of stock, but they are reproductions nowadays,so others may be selling them, does anybody know of another source in the UK. https://www.britishbikebits.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/580x400/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/p/1/...

Re: 1967 B44R Restoration

Dropped off the crank, barrel, head and cases with Mark and Anita at PES yesterday, they certainly seem to know their way about a unit single motor.

A site worthy of visiting

Image
Came across a good and informative site whilst trawling the virtual wastelands of the interweb, I'm sure a lot of you are aware of the http://www.bsaotter.com pages but for those who haven't seen it, there's a treat in store.

Re: Fitting a Chronometric

You must change the cable when running a chronometric, the square drive at the speedo end is 1/8" shorter than a magnetic clock cable. Using a later cable applies too much pressure on the internal mechanism and will result in failure of the chronometric instrument! http://chronometrics.co.uk/html/ca...

Re: THE RUPERT RATIO UNIT SINGLE ENGINE MANUAL FOR C15 B40 B25

I have just bought volumes 1 & 2 of Rupert's books, they appear to contain valuable information, do people here on the forum believe it to be mostly correct?

Re: 1967 B44R Restoration

Thanks K, looking through Rupert Vol II it appears that a lot of the chassis parts are 67/68. Fibre glass oil tank, rear light housing without reflectors and a small steel tank with chrome knee cutouts for example.

Engine mounts?

Received the first two volumes of Mr Ratio's exalted BSA Unit Singles book from Burton's today and went straight to the section on crankcases and their mounting lugs. It probably comes as no surprise to hear that the front and rear holes have become oval over the years, although the bottom mount see...

Re: 1967 B44R Restoration

Thanks for that Kommando, I think the chassis components came with the frame when the PO bought it. It's got the later fibre glass oil tank and a steel petrol tank which to my mind puts it after the ban on fibre glass tanks.

1967 Full Headlight Shrouds

I am looking for a pair of 1967 full headlight shrouds for a '67 Victor Roadster, part numbers 41-5155 and 41-5156. Any help in locating a pair would be greatly appreciated.
