Re: B50 - Reaming New Camshaft Bushes
Well if nothing else this has put a smile on my face! Even if I also bemoan the loss of so much engineering knowledge and skill, not to mention the demise of W L Cooke Precision Tools Ltd, who just happened to be just a couple of miles down the road. Thanks for the advice madsundaysurvivor, I may we...

B50 - Reaming New Camshaft Bushes
I've been looking locally (Ilford, Essex area) for someone that can line ream or hone new camshaft bushes. I've tried a couple of engineering firms without success and looked at buying a reamer but I'm not having much luck either way. Can anyone offer any information on who does this kind of work? T...

B50 Main Bearing Cages
Does anyone have experience of NSK roller bearings with Moulded Polyamide cages? I ordered new bearings a while ago but have only just looked at them as I'm shortly to start rebuilding the motor. I was a bit surprised to see the cages weren't made of brass or steel. I've done a bit of research and t...

Re: 1971 B50T Victor 500 Restoration.
Really like the fact that you are almost self-sufficient when it comes to machining and manufacturing your own kit, etc. I think you're making a terrific job of the restoration. If my B50SS comes out anywhere near as good I'll be a very happy bunny!

B50 LH Footrest 83-3015
Does anyone have a NOS item they'd be prepared to sell me? I'd like to get a new or undamaged one so that I can correctly re-profile the frame mounting point which is not in good shape.

Re: B50 Crankcase Breather Hole Gauze
Hi All,
Thanks for the replies. I've seen some posts about altering the breathing, etc. Still considering the options.
John, If you're able to find the old parts and let me know the mesh size I'd be most grateful.
ATB.

B50 Crankcase Breather Hole Gauze
Hi, Can anyone let me know the size of mesh used for the two gauze filter discs in the crankcase on the primary drive side? One is missing from my engine. The remaining disc has a solid outer ring, is slightly dished and looks to be 60 mesh stainless steel. I've heard reference elsewhere to these di...

MX50 cam in a SS?
Hi, Just in case you think you might be seeing double, I've posed the same question on Facebook... I'm in the process of rebuilding my B50SS engine and I'm considering fitting the MX cam, carb, etc. If you've experience of this I'd appreciate any comments on the pro's and con's. E.G. Is the slightly...

Re: B50SS battery carrier.
Hi, Sorry about the delay but Christmas and New Year and so forth. Some of the photos have rotated for some reason so make it a bit tiresome looking at them. The first couple show the air filter box to be a good fit. The next few show the battery carrier being an ok fit on it's own. The last couple ...

Re: B50SS battery carrier.
Thanks for all the replies. Paul. I will try to post some photos. Any comments will be most welcome. Gerry. You did rather hit the nail on the head. The airfilter box is an original part and fits nicely so I'm leaning towards the pattern battery carrier being the issue. I've already purchased two, t...

B50SS battery carrier.
Hi, I recently purchased a B50SS. Someone decided to do away with the standard battery carrier and fabricated a new one to fit a larger battery and also fitted a K&N style air filter. I've got hold of an original air filter box and after searching unsuccessfully for an original battery carrier bough...
