Re: Wassell ignition install
Don't seem to have the time to look through these posts very often these days. Saw this and it surprised me as I've sold over 200 of these ignitions with only two come back. One buyer didn't like the idea of a wasted spark, the other had clearly attached the battery across the sensor input wires whi...

How tight are your nuts?
What would be the correct, or a sensible, torque setting for these 26TPI 3/8" acorn nuts retaining the oil feed union?
(Asking for a friend)

Re: Gearbox sprocket width
Ian, I've checked the C15 19T sprocket next to a late B25 item and yes the C15 sprockets have a deeper boss which is correct. OTJ writes; "In 1969 the main bearing in the gearbox was moved about 0.060" nearer to the clutch and the sprocket boss made correspondingly shorter to maintain the same chain...

Red line was 8200rpm but in tearaway years I always found power bands were at 4200-4500rpm and again at 8500-9000rpm hence short engine life.

Minety,
Are you wanting the Made in England sticker or do you want to write something else in that style?
I may have some waterslide decals if you are after originality.
We use a similar vinyl version on the electric BSA's, PM me if you want some Cheers

Lucas horns use this: s-l1000.jpg Fixing bolts to the frame bracket were latterly rubber mounted. Agree with Nambo, 250 OIF mid range stutter; richness due "thin?" modern fuel, restrictive silencer or worn needle jet. Triumph twins invariably need the needle to be dropped with modern fuel. Didn't mean to worry you John, just that Talon made a batch with the bolt holes too small. You might find the hot starting is a hot coil issue; efficiency drops with heat (and age). Try a different coil.

Sly, you say you have a Mk1 concentric: The early Mk1 had a short jet holder, and different needle/needle jets to later carburettors. I've got a Sparx switch on my TR5T.
It has a headlamp flasher facility by pushing the horn button up which I have not connected as the horn is before the switch on the TR5T (switch to earth) unlike the BSA and Bonneville which have the switch first and horn to earth.
