Re: Petrol tank rubbers - oif

Yes Chris Pellet is one of the best people for parts that I have dealt with, always first class service and goes the extra mile for customers, unlike some of them lol

Chris Pellet at Ripe Motorcycles always has them, and you can alter the thickness to get the tank in exactly the position you want.

Re: TR5MX clutch/kickstart issue

Hi, from what I can see in the first picture, the nut on the mainshaft/kickstart ratchet gears is definitely not on correctly, it may be tight, but probably because the thread of the nut or shaft is damaged. When the shaft and kickstart ratchet is assembled with the nut and tab washer and tightened ...

B50 CARB AMAL CONCENTRIC 1900 SERIES MK 1.5 (1 1/2)

Hi have any of you had any experiences of fitting a Amal 1900 series 30mm MK 1.5 carb to a B50 road version B50T/B50ss? I have managed to get hold of a couple of the Spanish made MK 1.5 carbs with the MK 2 type choke plunger arrangement and I am in the process of fitting the standard spec 930 jets a...

Re: TR5T Engine

Hi, I think you will struggle with an original TR5T engine especially if you are in UK, but you could consider using any 500 unit Triumph engine, although a later one 68 onward would be better as they are stronger engines. Perhaps you could find a Daytona or T100c etc and use that, and you would the...

Re: Crankshaft bearings

Hi, you should always use C3 bearings in any application where the bearing is an interference fit in the casing, and if you warm the casing in the oven at 200-250 which will be maximum for about 5-10 mins until water sizzles on it, and place your bearings in the freezer for a couple of hours first. ...

Re: A kicker that actually folds away?

Terry Weedy (Avery Products) does a very good folding kickstart cranked for either Trials with large crank or MX with smaller crank, they are a decent length as well, longer than some, which gives you better lever and mechanical advantage. He can also offer alloy topped kickstarts but not sure how s...

Re: TR5mx Carb Settings

The pilot jet is actually a pilot bush and it is down the bottom of the hole when you take the mixture screw out, the best thing to clear it with if its obstructed is a thin solid guitar string. The bush on the original carbs is not removable, but the new Amal Premiers have removable pilot jet.

Hi Jerry, I was hoping to have the B50 on the road for this summer, so the lozenge may have to wait. I have bought another downpipe with a different bend at the end so I can fit a silencer like your peanut on. I had these bikes back in the early 1980's, and had a peanut like that on a B44, I had a l...

Yes, the chap at Autocycle engineering said they get too much waste with the stainless guards when they roll the edges and ends they can frequently crack and that is the reason they are not doing them, unless I suppose they get a very large order come in, and then it may be more viable. But I don't ...

B50 WANTED

Hi, I am new to the B50.org, so hello to everyone, I am looking to buy a B50 in need of some work, or in bits, although I would consider a good running bike, but to be honest part of the reason to buy one needing some work is so that I can do some spannering as I enjoy that sort of thing. I would pr...
