Woe is me

Post by minetymenace » Thu Jun 01, 2017 3:55 pm

Unbelievable misfortune at the moment, lost everything except of the B25 in bits, B50 not finished and Le Mans running great, just when I though it couldn't get any worse, Lemon stolen last night. Bummer. :(

Insured yes but their valuation will not be the same as what it was worth to me.

Nightmare.

If talking things over with a beer in hand would help, you know where I am.

Chin up.

Lemon found, fuzz have the names of two oiks. They dropped it when pushing it through town, someone saw two hoodies pushing a bike with no number plate and gave chase (I vote to arm vigilantes). Currently being dusted for DNA and prints in an unknown condition in a police compound near Wellingborough (for the colonials, that's pronounced "Well-ing-brer") ...so I guess its a fairing, mirror and indicator then :???:

Good to hear that something has gone good for you. Wellingbro is full of a mix of motorcycle fanatics and hoods - I used to live close to there and the 3 guys I rode overland with came from there.

Hope the damage is not too bad.

Regards,
John and Lynn

Move to the USA. ; ) Like a pal of mine used to say, "any one caught stealing my bike will get one warning shot to the back of the head"

The saga continues, I binned the Lemon last week, wiped out the right side of the bike, have a hematoma the size of a cabbage on my hip and my shoulder is not right. ..nothing time and money won't cure, so once I have my new workshop sorted will probably put the <12fs on the road. ( 778 can wait).

Time to put up some cameras. I am not sure if you have these over there. But here in the USA these are very common, they are called "Trail Cams" . They are motion activated and even work at night. At least then you would have their photos. I also use motion sensor yard lights all around the house and garage. The newer ones can be set to come on at dusk and then dim down only to go to full brightness when some one goes near them. And they now have a setting where if it is off at night and some one walks up, the light flashes twice before going to full on, so anyone waling up knows they triggered some thing.

I had a friend who used to live in a bad area of Saginaw MIchigan, he was broke into twice and lost some of his tools. He took a thin pine board and screwed a couple of dozen of the long dry wall screws into it. Then he set it under the side window of the garage with the pointy side up. A few days nights later he was awoken late at night by a lot of noise. Two days later he said he noticed the neighbors kid had a serious limp. He called the police and they talked to the kid and then he let the rest of the neighbors know who the problem was. No more break ins, the family was renting and moved out shortly afterwards. :laugh :laugh
