My father had one of these when I was small....maybe it got me into BSA's at an early age (ours had the optional cutter bar on the front, no health and safety then!!)

Beat already has something like this, maybe I should move the topic to "Bikes for sale", it is a two wheeled BSA, and it is for sale.....but I am afraid of having the urine extracted mercylessly...

hi al,
as I can not effor a pony, basicly I made the al thing , especialy the Hydraulik part for a other reason.
this was starting like this...
34K&S_2.jpg
the base

then in a next step
36K&S.jpg
a few parts needet to weld on...

some more Tubes, two scrap Wheels and a Cylinder
39K&S.jpg
work in progress...

yes, some hours of work ( plaisir ) and some cup of tea...
43K&S.jpg
slowly it gets its form...

and the al " road Train " is ready to go for a Test...
44K&S Kopie.jpg

55K&S_2.jpg
a first Trunk is ready to split

it works !
58K&S.jpg
hydraulik pressure up to 250 bar, press force by 12 Tonns,

not much that can resist...

hi al,
as wood has different sices, my one is made to cop with nearly al...
FeinholzApril 02_2.jpg
lift the spliter up on it`s trailer..

so, for the smal stuff it is in a handy position to work with..
Spähtho 04.jpg
nice to work with smaler logs

also made a" CROSS " to get four pices out in one action...
Ganzfertig 18.jpg
four-way cross

and it works as well....
Buche 005 Kopie.jpg
up to a diameter of around 40 cm it is fine...

medium sice logs are cut on the floor level...
06er 03.jpg
the " roll on " position.

up to 60 cm ( two feet ? ) it is enough by 12 000 press,
12.jpg
Tanne, 60 + cm.

but, as everiting has his limit, - the real big ones like this
der Dickste 06.jpg
90 cm and more !

it needet a litle help for the first split <022
der Dickste 20.jpg
needet some help with the hammer

hope, this explains not the frog`s wettnes,- ??? - no, it hopefully explains why I do not realy wantd to fight over this one from bossy / Ebay , evan if there is a BSA engine on it !
the MAG engine is a old sidevalve 350cc thing, RPM regulated to max 3 000 U Min. and very economical. this means, I work with this unit a al day and it has a fuel consumption of say 5 liters!
and after say two days, a al winter needet wood is splitted and ready for drying! ( 8 m3 )
17er 004.jpg
8 cubikmeter wood for one season.

should add that Thatchers are one of the hundreds of local cider makers, here in Somerset, the home of cider. Most like the real apple sort, but Rhino comes from t'up north and has a soft spot for the pear sort.
He may find some travels down to Groutys scramble on Sunday. Cider and BSA 's ( well the 75 CCM, which Mark has promised will be ready, for the weekend - see under Projects ) life don't come much better. ccmicon <1010 <069 B50icon b44icon :thumb

I think it was Fred Wedlock who said:

"Beer 's a drag man, it makes me fart. I like cider, the distilled juice of the forbidden fruit"

but I can't remember any more.

Current favourite beer: St Austell Tribute
Current favourite cider: Frome Valley Organic (being borne in Somerset, I was surprised to find the Frome Valley cider comes from Hereford).

Beer, that's getting it back on track. Is it not :?:

Not enough has been drunk this year, don't if it's been too much work or not enough excuses to have one or three.

Gerry, when your done playing sand castles the beer is on me. I can't be blamed for the rain though.

Call a spade a spade. I miss the days when all I wanted to be was happy and gay
