How to lose your bike

Post by Canberra » Sun Apr 01, 2007 10:10 am

Not the best thing to do with your bike or your body.

You have to be "bit" crazy and have more $ than sense. Got to give it to the last guy though. I wonder what was the actual attrition rate.

About a hundred years ago, my dad took me to a hillclimb on a hot dry summer day. I'd climbed as far up the side of that slippery hill as I could when an Indian or HD, I don't remember which, went out of control and started tumbling right at me and then the carby that stuck out to the side broke off and the fuel on the hot engine started the dry grass of the hill on fire. I tumbled nearly all the way to the bottom of the hill unhurt only to be met by chaos as people were trying to get out the one road to and from the place. It seems the entire hillside being on fire wasn't in anyones preplans. Beyond me ending up safe, I don't remember anything about how the rest of the deal came out but to this day, I've never gone to another hillclimb !!!!.. Stan
