B40 Trials frame mods

Postby steve@afs » Sun May 08, 2005 4:19 pm

Just wondered if anyone had altered a B40GB for trials use and if so what did you do, I have looked at a webpage today where the author had lowered the rear subframe, thus raising the ride height, but he didn't say by how much? any tips would be appreciated :?:

I have modified a C15 frame so do not have any experience of modifing you4r frame but I would have thought that longer shocks would have the same effect as lowering the sub-frame and a lot easier.

Late c15c frame is exactly the same as the b40gb frame, i think the reason for dropping the subframe/shortening the diagonals is to reduce seat height and raise ride height. don morley's book says he dropped the seat height/subframe by 2" but he kept the shocks almost vertical, the bike on the webpage i looked at had pulled the subframe in as well making the shocks lean forward a bit more http://www.ahrma.org/machines/bsa-b40.htm
