Rear tank trim

Post by petef » Tue Jun 02, 2015 2:41 pm

Hi Guys,

Here is a question that has probably been asked many times before regarding tank trim strips, but when I did a search for the part number, 83-3180, found nothing.
I just have one seam on the rear of my tank, as per the part number above, but can't find one anywhere. Is anyone making these or know of a plastic chrome strip that might be a reasonable alternative?

Found this posting from captain in 2013 but he wasn't going to make any more, sadly!

Like busses, none for ages then twotank trim questions in as many weeks!

Pete

There are a couple of US based suppliers both indicating stock of the rear trim:

Klempf's British Parts
$30.00 New?

British Only Motorcycles and Parts
$49.61 New, $29.77 Used

Hi Steve,

Nice one! I'm Houston at the moment (I live in the UK) & just ordered a tank strip from Klempf's. It was $52! Another piece of the jigsaw completed. Many thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Pete

Now its fing $63.50!! Gone up 20% in two an a half years! This was in spite of me telling them that its for the UK market and B all demand for them in the US, they still wouldn't budge on the price :( . Bugger the Euromillions, I'm just going to buy NOS...

Anyway, had a result  , see this post.
