Bantam front hub for scrambles?

Post by Mike A » Thu Jan 10, 2019 5:09 pm

with regards to my intended foray into competition this year it seems that the early XL250 forks and wheel I currently have fitted on my Victor wouldn't be acceptable under AMCA rules...a real shame because they certainly look the part and it handles just fine.
so with that in mind I've had a root around the workshop and I've come up with a set of early 70s T120 forks (same as my sons MK3 Rickman) and I've also found a rebuilt Bantam hub laced up to a nice new rim, the question now is will the hub be strong enough, I'm thinking of turning up a spindle out of something strong and it has new bearings etc, I can't see it being too much of a problem? or can it...

Hmm .... probably !
I'd be wanting to stop at the bottom of the hill though

I hope we get to see you and the bike at Devon Classic on Easter Sunday.

Thanks again Grouty, unfortunately I've got a family thing on the sunday but I'm off to watch Redmarley on Monday so not a wasted Easter! hopefully we will cross paths sometime over the summer, might you be at Combe Martin later in the year?

Just as an update I've now found a B50 hub so hopefully problem solved...yes it was hot wasn't it, on the way out we stopped to give the chickens by the gate our water, their bowls were bone dry, poor little critters.
