Best material for crankcase studs ?

Post by baz » Thu Jan 31, 2019 8:22 pm

I will soon need to make some special length 7/16" crankcase /barrel studs
I'm not sure what grade of steel to use?
I could buy a set of B50 studs and cut them down to length as the crankcase thread is 7/16 unc
But if I make them I'm not certain what material to order?
Cheers baz

Just for us non-Jessops speaking other side of the pond-ers, Is there a SAE number for that? Better yet, a site where a person can cross reference the Brit-speak metal designations to the American number system?
