B25 Ignition Coil

Post by B44Claus » Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:28 pm

Good afternoon,

I'm about to buy a new ignition coil for my 69 B25 Starfire . The ignition will be standard with contact breakers. The parts book gives me OEM number LU45110(BSA no.19-1854). One supplier lists this coil as follows:
"Lucas Ignition Coil 12 volt. Body diameter 48mm (1+7/8") Full length 127mm (5") Primary resistance 3.2 Ohms OEM 45110".
There seems to be other smaller 12V coils available with 41mm dia/111 mm length primary resistance 5 Ohms. Can anyone tell me what is correct?

Brgds,
Claus

Either will work just fine, but the 5 ohm will use less power and the 3 ohm will let you "upgrade" to EI later without changing it if you like.
