B40 Valve seat fit

Post by Momus »

Can anyone comment on whether B40 round heads have dove tail style cast in valve seats?

The head on mine has been attacked by a porter and the seat inserts buggered so need replacing.
If you love it, lube it.

I don't have a B40 but almost certain it will be the same as B25/B50's with a reverse tapered seat that's cast in, from what I know only certain Triumph engines from the early 70's changed to fully machined heads with the valve seats shrink fitted.
