Stock hand grips for B50MX?

Post by Nedthehead » Wed Feb 01, 2017 12:42 am

Hi, just acquired a restored 1973 B50MX that has street-style Gran Turisimo hand grips, which can't be correct. In a B50MX brochure photo I see what appear to be dimpled grips. Anybody know what correct grips are and where to get some?

Also need front number plate & mounts, and were Goodyear Eagle MX knobbies the correct tires for this bike?

Thanks in advance,
David

From what I can remember back in the day. it was common for the dealers to sell the Gran Turisimo grips and install them . I know the Norton and Triumph dealers did this and I had purchased a couple of new bikes back then that had them on. Compared to the thin hard OEM grips, they were a great improvement.
I just went downstairs and checked on a row of 250's BSA and Triumph branded. All nine had the Gran Turisimo on them. These are 1968 to 1971 models and many have been down there for 35+ years.
