Quality rubber instrument cup

Post by Brad Jones » Fri Apr 05, 2019 8:21 am

Looking for some decent 80mm rubber instrument cups that have a little more rigidity than a jelly! There was somewhere in the States that supplied a decent pair some years ago after I asked this same question here, but I can neither find the reply nor the business card of the subsequent purchase!

Thanks.

Hi Brad

You could try Grin Triumph in Scotland http://www.grintriumph.com/

I seem to recall him advertising a range of rubber gaiters that were made in the UK using the correct materials meaning that they don't disintegrate like the crap EMGO ones! Whether that's the same with the rubber parts you want, you'll have to ask :thumb

Cheers
John

Just checked his site properly, it appears he has UK made ones Part No 60-2600 for £11 ea, although no pic I'm hopeful you should be ok

Cheers John, I'll drop him a line and quiz him!

As someone that is loathe to throw anything away (even if it is crap), has anyone any suggestions with what I could do with the four useless ones that I have in the garage??

Fill them full of nuts, seeds and dripping and hang them out as bird feeders.
Cut the bottom out and pop rivet them to the door of your truck and use them as cup holders.

I doubt that they could even support half a can of a fizzy something, so floppy are they! And anything larger than a baby Jenny Wren chancing a landing would likely finding them collapsing under the weight! Why on earth do folk go to the bother of tooling up properly for such items, and then scrimp?? Well, a quick buck I guess. Money; money, money...
