Short of lucking onto a NOS item who in the aftermarket is providing new B50 oil pumps?
TIA.

Hi Momus,
I've moved this to Parts Wanted (as its not really Tech).

I don't think anyone is making new, they come up occasionally on ebay etc, however you can use almost any pump, even the two stud ones although I wouldn't recommend it, I mean your best option and easiest to get hold of is the 3 stud B25 one if you can't get an original B50 one. SRM make a two stud one, I surprised they haven't done a three stud one, they say it dosen't fit a B50, don't know why....
.....think I am right, someone will shoot me down if I've made this up!!

Hi I have a 3 stud B50 pump that I exchanged on my bike for a re bushed one it was slowly wet sumping though the worn sharft housing so I had a spare pump machined and bushes fixed my problem.

Are the late 250 and 500 pumps the same? I had some one tell me many years ago that the B44 and B25 pumps had different flow rates due to shell bearings and higher rpm on the 250.

Yes the same different flow rates to suit the type of big end bearing, B25 had the wide feed, B50 stuck with the B44 narrow feed.

If it's a good core I'd be interested in buying it Barry. Can you give me some details on where you are and a price?

Cheek Barry! My bike rose like a phoenix from the ashes and still runs to this day. No idea of the history of this eBay oil pump, but it looks completely un-torched!

And please show me some respect - my bike is THE IHOSMILE not one of these new-fangled IHRSMILE s! ;-) :thumb

Cheers

What did he do?

This forum seems to have a lot of marque enthusiasts steeped in history. Another gent was advising not to underestimate the thinking behind oiling system changes made in 1936.

I replied yes re the oil pump a couple of posts back-end the one you referenced Mr Hingley from.

In the annals of history, one of the highlights of the 21st century was the destruction by fire of the IHOSMILE. It is on a par with the Great Fire of London the sacking of Rome and the invention of the safety match. Why did Shakespeare make St Crispin's Day famous? Its to do with crispy Beesas in Gloucestershire. >44 A leg end in his own lunchtime he is rumoured to own a motorcycle named after a boy band. :ban

Anyone got anything to add?
