tr25w con rods

Post by bajatr25w » Mon Feb 10, 2014 10:41 pm

Im a new member,im glad this forum is available,im starting to work on a 69' Triumph TRW with the B25 engine and i know that the con rod is its weak point, ive read that the b25ss rod that came out in 71-72 is a much stronger rod,how good a solution is this ?,ive seen some billet rods by Carrillo that go for 300 bucks,a little steep for me,also is the stock clutch good enough for this bike,i know its not adequate for a b40 (too small).I dont plan on racing or abusing it,at 63 im more of a cruiser than a racer.appreciate all the help.thnx

if its not to be raced there will be no problem using the stock clutch and rod. use genuine bsa parts as much as possible, a lot of trouble starts when pattern parts are used. regards midgie.

Thnx for the input, really like the bike,in tech pages i see a mod, where you put an oil line to where an oil gauge should be fitted, does this really increase oil supply to top end ??is this mod worth it ??

in a word no! it is not needed just build the motor standard and with care. that is all that's needed for you're application. but that is just my opinion others may know best of course! regards midgie.

Standard will be fine, no worries with the clutch, but use a good new (not second hand) con rod
