New Year's Day Meeting 2019

Post by minetymenace » Tue Dec 18, 2018 3:16 pm

The West Wilts section of the VMCC is having their anual New Year's Day meeting at The Daneway, Sapperton, Gloucestershire (how will the Yanks pronounce that? Glow-cester-shire :laugh ), between Cirencester and Stroud.

or in more detail click here.

Normally a good turnout of relics and their bikes.

Who's going?

Me.

This yank would phonetically spell "Gloucestershire" as "Glous-ter-shur". No?

But don't ask me to spell the name you pronounce as "Fan-shaw". ["Featherstone"?]

Great! <12fs Just had a test run, all seems fine(ish), the oil ring taken from a piston crown that has been an ash tray for 30 years seems to be OKish. Oil change tomorrow ready for the 60 mile trip next year.

Anyone else?

Despite me thinking I had the day to do as I please I can't make it. We have visitors arriving mid morning for the day. Maybe next year!

Hi

Went to the Boxing Day meet at Whitminster, south of Gloucester. Took Mandy up on the back of the A65 Lightning. Hundreds of bikes there of course, but only spotted this one unit single, a nicely presented B44 Shooting Star. In rather better nick than by B44 Victor. Couldn't spot the owner which was a pity as I wanted to talk to him about the Colombres Rally. It's on my bucket list... Anyone know the bike or owner?

Happy New Year one and all.

Sorry Gerry.

Mandy's been laid up with flu for past 5 days and has thoughtfully now past it on to me. <221

lots of Ariels (3 or 4 sq 4s), you should recognises some of the unit singles....
