April 27th 2019 bsaoc motherlode ride

Hello everybody, you might say I have been away.
My bike has had the registration and insurance paid for each year, but had not been ridden since 2014. And with all this sitting around in the garage it wet sumped and required a complete rub down. I kept expecting to get right to it and other things kept popping up to be done instead.

After a bit of fiddling, fork rebuild,, new battery, some new tires and fluid, it started easily. Since I had yet to shake the bike down, I did not intend to participate in the actual motherlode club ride. But having just been notified the day before, (about the ride) the bike up and running, I could not resist making the trek to hear, see and smell the british bikes of yesteryear once more.

I rode the approximate forty mile round trip to El Dorado Hills to meet up with the club as they staged their bikes and rode off.

I was the first one there. Seemed to be a lesser number of riders this year. I rode there and back with out issue of any kind.

In case there was any one who was wondering, I am back out on my favorite bike. Does any body wonder?

California dreamin'. If I had my time again, I'd be you neighbour. Not as many Beesas as I was expecting, but some really nice machines...

As the world moves on there are less of us old blue hairs left to keep up the tradition.

Thank you beat and skippy. Although I never stopped lurking on the message board, I was deprived of riding the bsa.
So...
It’s like I never left.

Had it out yesterday.

You're an inspiration 2many, maybe enough for me to fire up my B50 after quite some again sitting in the shed with fuel drain plug and sump plug out.
I did at least free-up the clutch a week ago when my 2 year old grandson wanted to sit on 'ampar's mo-bike, but still it sits there like a work of art, gaining in value seemingly as much every year as the rego I keep paying.
Cheers, all. :ban
