I have made a small movie how to upload pics on B50.org. MAX size on pics is: 500 KB. You can´t upload any bigger file!!

Dubbel click if you want to see the movie bigger on youtube.

If the files are to big. rightclick on the in explorer and pick " send to" "email" and send them to your self. Now they are compressed!.

This is just a notice to all that I (we) are being blackmailed by Photobucket. All the photos that I have hosted on Photobucket have been disallowed and they are demanding $399 to allow 3rd party hosting. Because we were not advised this when we started using the service, it seems we have no alternative than to pay their BLACKMAIL request or, too bad, they will no longer post our photos!

Please spread the word. I for one, will not pay so all my posted photos (from Photobucket) will now be invisible!

Am I correct in thinking everybody else's pics are OK? If so, you could use what they do.

Yes, I can switch to Flickr or something else, but the big issue is that the 100 or so photos that I have posted to this forum as well as others will all have to be re-posted from any new service I decide to use. And Photobucket knows this; hence the sudden $399 price tag. I suspect that there are others (Stan for one) whose photos will be lost to the world! It's a shame, as we weren't notified in advance or given any options.

I got this from another forum I'm on. Apparently Google Photos works a charm and is free:

"sign into google, click on app symbol up at top, pick pictures. Then it is similar to photobucket. Upload pictures. Right click on picture, save image location. Then go to forum and do the , paste location
(minus the extra spaces)"

Give it a try and let us know

Cheers

I have Google Chrome, but what's the app symbol and where do I find it?

The photobucket thing is a real nuisance. I'd just got the hang of using it and it decides to turn into an extortion racket! I have all the pics on my computer so nothing lost, but now I;m going to have to learn, all over again, how to put pics on places like this forum...

Excellent! Thanks, I'd never spotted that (and even failed to spot it earlier today when looking for it after having seen the above post advising of its existence!)

Oh. No help I;m afraid. I can click on that thingamy and it opens up a screen with various brightly coloured icons, but no sign of one which says Photos or Pictures, or anything remotely like that. This is Google Chrome, it is what I use as my default browser. Any further suggestions on how I can overcome this would be most welcome.

Click the Google Drive icon which should be among the ones you can see. Google Photos will be 'inside' there.

"Your Google photos will appear here" is what I get. No idea why it thinks that. It doesn't tell me how to make them appear!

Is this 'apps' thing meant for mobile phones? Because if so, I don;t have one (well, not a modern one anyway - all it does is make/receive phone calls). My only means of photo storage and internet connection is my laptop.

If anyone knows of a simple way of putting pics on something that does the same job as Photobucket, but isn't crap like Photobucket has become, I'd very much like to know.

I like the sound of that! I will give it a try when I have an hour or so free. When it comes to anything to do with computers, I have learning difficulties.

We are not alone. I have notice the Photobucket "blackmail" blocking of old pictures on many other sites. Because of this underhanded way of dealing with people, I refuse to ever again use Photobucket!

After seeing the Photobucket policy update results on many other sites. And reading many articles on their "blackmail" of their users for the $400.00 per year. I have just created folders on my own computed, downloaded and organized all of my Photobucket photos. I have erased my photos on their site and I will be taking their "survery" and then closing my account with them.

Photobucket fix

Post by Sam »

Just saw this on another forum and thought I would share, I have tried this and it works.

If you're using Google Chrome, go to the three dots on the right side of the screen and click them. A drop down should appear. Hover your mouse over "More Tools," and when the next drop down appears, click on extensions. Go to the link towards the bottom that says "Get more extensions." In the search box, type "Photobucket Fix," and hit enter. Click the install button and once it's done, you should be able to see photobucket pictures again.

For FireFox users, click on the three bars on the right side of the screen, then click on add ons. Click search for "photobucket hotlink" and click install. Same result.

Good advice is worth paying for, free advice is free for a reason!

the trouble with that is that the host is not related to this site. We have lost loads of info because hosting sites have closed down and threads become meaningless when the discussion is about pictures that don't exist any more.
